Extending Forgiveness

This morning, one of my small dogs needed a little TLC. As she cuddled next to me and I stroked her fur, I reflected that over the last year, a particularly hard one, God had often offered me TLC too. Some years ago, a trial by fire presented itself when I had been asked to step in and run two affiliated companies whose owners had passed away.

Different Drummer

Years ago, I was sharing with a very dear friend some issue with which I had been dealing. Very much like my mother, my friend always laughs at my stories, even the ones in which I’m complaining or seeking her advice.

“Find God”

So, I decided to clean the top of my desk. I try to do this at least once every 25 years whether it needs it or not. Among the stacks of papers, I came across a list, at the top of which I had written “Find God.”

Jesus Would Not Have Denied Me Communion

My husband Paul and I have been married for more than 47 years! We are as alike as jelly and jam and as different as whole wheat and rye. He grew up in the northern United States; I grew up in the South. He’s Catholic and I’m Baptist; for the most part that distinction has never been an issue.

Greeting God

Greet God each morning with open arms! When our children were young and my husband and I would come home from work, they would run to us with arms open wide, overflowing with happiness and love. How I miss those times of unrestrained, all-encompassing love.
