Praying During a Pandemic: Out of Our Hands

My hands are clean. I promise that I didn’t do this. I prayed for a slower pace, for the closing down of my private warehouse that manufactures speed.

These days, prayer is often seen as insignificant. We place it on our programs as a kind gesture, a pleasantry extended out of respect for our Elder God. It is a routine remark given—though not out of necessity.

A View from the Pew: Words and Hands

My church recently ordained three of its members as new deacons, setting them apart for special service to God’s church and its people. Each time I participate in such a worship service, I am blessed because it presents me with an opportunity to literally and tangibly be a blessing to someone.
