This is a very tactile and visual way of praying for peace and reconciliation that would work for all ages.
You will need: small blobs of playdough in different colors.
Talk with your children about situations where two sides are fighting with each other. They could be taking place anywhere in the world, involving wars or elections, or they could be much closer to home, involving people your children know. The situations could even involve the children themselves, like arguments they are having with other children at school.
Talk about God bringing peace, and that one of our jobs as Christians is to pray for peace:
God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.
—Matthew 5:9
Ask each child to choose two different colors of playdough blobs.
Pick one of the situations you talked about. Ask the children to blend the two colors together to make a new color. As they do so, ask them to pray that the two different sides in the situation will come together and make peace.
Then, choose a different conflict and two more blobs. Continue to press the blobs together, making new colors and praying for people to have peace in each situation.
