  1. On your computer, find the email with the links to your eBook
  2. Download the .mobi version of the book to your computer
  3. Locate the folder which contains the newly downloaded eBook file (likely your “Downloads” folder) and copy that file
  4. Ensure you device is turned on and unlocked, then physically connect your Kindle to your computer using your device’s USB cable
  5. Windows: When prompted on your computer, click “Open folder to view files” to open the drive for your Kindle. If you are not prompted, navigate in your file explorer window to your device’s storage.
    Mac: Double-click on your device’s icon on your desktop
  6. Navigate to the folder labeled “documents”
  7. Paste the .mobi file (copied in step 3) into that folder
  8. Eject your Kindle from your computer before unplugging it. If you are using an older version of Windows, ejecting may not be possible.
  9. Your book will now appear in your Kindle library on your device

 

Amazon Fire Tablet

  1. On your computer, find the email with the links to your eBook
  2. Download the .mobi version of the book to your computer
  3. Locate the folder which contains the newly downloaded eBook file (likely your “Downloads” folder) and copy the file
  4. Ensure you device is turned on and unlocked, then physically connect your tablet to your computer using your device’s USB cable
  5. Swipe down from the top of the tablet’s screen and tap on the message referencing USB options
  6. Select the option for “Transfer Files” or “Media device (MTP)”
  7. Windows: When prompted on your computer, click “Open device to view files” to open the drive for your Fire Tablet. If you are not prompted, navigate in your file explorer window to your device’s storage.
    Mac: Use the “Android File Transfer” app to access your device
  8. Navigate to “Internal Storage”, then to the “Books” folder
  9. Paste your .mobi file (copied in step 3) into that folder
  10. Your book can now be opened using the Docs app on your device, listed under the Local Storage tab. Because of Kindle’s security restrictions, your book will not be available through your Kindle library.
