Android Device with Kindle App

  1. On your computer, find the email with the links to your eBook
  2. Download the .mobi version of the book to your computer
  3. Locate the folder which contains the newly downloaded eBook file (likely your “Downloads” folder) and copy that file
  4. Ensure you device is turned on and unlocked, then physically connect your device to your computer using your device’s USB cable
  5. Swipe down from the top of your device’s screen and tap on the message referencing USB options
  6. Select the option for “Transfer Files” or “Media device (MTP)”
  7. Windows: When prompted on your computer, click “open device to view files” to open the drive for your device. If you are not prompted, navigate in your file explorer window to your device’s storage.
    Mac: Use the “Android File Transfer” app to access your device
  8. Navigate to “Android”, then “data”, then “com.amazon.kindle”, and finally “files”, which should contain other eBook files
  9. Paste your .epub file (copied in step 3) into that folder
  10. Eject your device from your computer before unplugging it. If you are using an older Windows computer, ejecting may not be possible.
  11. Your book will now appear in your Kindle library on your device

 

Android Device with Other Reader App

  1. On your computer, find the email with the links to your eBook
  2. Download the .epub version of the book to your computer
  3. Locate the folder which contains the newly downloaded eBook file (likely your “Downloads” folder) and copy that file
  4. Ensure you device is turned on and unlocked, then physically connect your device to your computer using your device’s USB cable
  5. Swipe down from the top of your device’s screen and tap on the message referencing USB options
  6. Select the option for “Transfer Files” or “Media device (MTP)”
  7. Windows: When prompted on your computer, click “Open device to view files” to open the drive for your device. If you are not prompted, navigate in your file explorer window to your device’s storage.
    Mac: Use the “Android File Transfer” app to access your device
  8. Navigate to the folder on the device where eBook files are kept, likely called “Files” or “Books”
  9. Paste your .epub file (copied in step 3) into that folder
  10. Eject your device from your computer before unplugging it. If you are using an older Windows computer, ejecting may not be possible.
  11. Your book can now be opened using your preferred reading app
