"We are children of the Lord, we come to worship Him. We bring our gifts, we bring our love; but most of all, we bring our lives to Him.? Highlighting bold syncopations at the beginning, this anthem moves to a more reflective middle section, then transitions into the opening material again. Especially poignant is the text: "Jesus, as we grow and learn, help us to be strong. Help us to love and learn to share, and forgive us when we do wrong."
On the opening section, observe the short rests at the end of each phrase: ‘we bring our gifts,’ / ‘we bring our love,’ ‘but most of all’. By doing this the emphasis and importance of the last line will be presented: ‘we bring our lives to Him.’ The contrast is rich for development between the style of the opening / closing sections and the middle portion of the work avoid the desire to slacken the tempo of the middle section. As the meter moves to 3 / 4, keep this section very flowing, both vocally and accompanimentally.
