Brief Description
"How Then Should We Live?" is a four session Bible study for adults, including learner’s materials, teaching guides, and handouts.

In the final chapters of the book of Romans, Paul outlines some of the qualities of Christian character. Paul was writing to a Christian community in Rome which had experienced conflict between Jewish and Gentile converts. Even though we cannot transport ourselves to first century Rome, we deal with contemporary issues regarding conservative and liberal attitudes toward character and morality. Paul has words for us also on how the gospel of Jesus Christ transcends such divisions in attitudes and philosophy.

Session One explores transformation as an aspect of Christian character. Here adults will discover the primary qualities of Christian character while experiencing life.

Session Two focuses on honor due to civil authorities. How do we decide on the Christian response to political realities and issues?

Session Three discusses the place of judgment in Christian personal relationships. Judging others takes on a variety of forms. While we should be held accountable for our actions, we should not be judgmental of others.

Session Four examines the place of encouragement and harmony in the Christian life. What is the difference between harmony and unity in a church? How do we serve those who are different from us or those with whom we disagree?
