The Israelites' experiences on their journey from Egypt to the Promised Land has often been compared to the Christians journey of faith. As the Israelites on their wilderness journey, Christians encounter a wide variety of experiences on the way to the Promised Land. Similar experiences make the stories of the Israelite journey interesting and applicable to the people of faith today.
The lessons from Exodus that compose this unit examine four important encounters in the wilderness. They characterize God's guidance (Into the Wilderness), Gods deliverance (Across the Sea), Gods provision (Promise of Provision), and Gods care (Is the Lord Really Here?).
Session One explores how to recognize Gods presence and guidance even in the midst of lifes wilderness times.
Session Two discusses how God may deliver us from dangerous situations. In addition, this session looks at understanding Gods purpose and how we can face our fears.
Session Three examines how we can learn to rely on God daily. Can you recognize when God has provided you with an undeserved gift, like the manna the Israelites received in the wilderness?
Session Four wonders if a desperate need has prompted you to lash out at others or God. This session walks through the fears of whether God is present in your life and how to recognize that presence.
