"Looking to the Cross and Learning the Gospel" is a six session Bible study for adults, including learner’s materials, teaching guides, and handouts.
This unit is a focused study on Lent.
Session One looks at a passage that proclaims the joyous message that the cross of Jesus Christ has freed us from sin. Yet, how many of us still feel burdened under the weight of sin?
Session Two explores the meaning of salvation by grace. What is expected of us in return for the gift of eternal life?
Session Three reflects on the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross. Jesus' sacrifice should cause us to wonder about the places where we are willing to sacrifice ourselves.
Session Four focuses on the transformation that happens to Christians at baptism. They become light, after the example of Jesus Christ who is the light of the world.
Session Five continues to reflect on the path of Jesus to the cross. This session discusses having a mind which is set upon Christ while reflecting on those distractions of the world that hinder a spiritual walk.
Session Six asks us is we, as Christians, will continue to follow Jesus in ways that lead to sacrifice.
