by Gary A. Furr & Milburn Price
The second book in the FaithGrowth Series, The Dialogue of Worship explores the nature and content of the three "directions" of communication, or conversation, in worship: the Word of God to the people, the worshipers' response to God, and their sharing with each other. The book also discusses the various media through which communication occurs.
Appropriate for anyone involved in planning, leading, or studying worship, The Dialogue of Worship encourages a maturing spirituality.
FaithGrowth is a series exploring a local church model of Christian education that integrates worship, community, Bible study, and discipleship to foster a maturing spirituality and create an effective setting for faith growth.
Gary A. Furr is pastor of Vestavia Hills Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. He has served churches in Georgia, Texas, and North Carolina. He leads spirituality retreats and is a member of the Academy for Spiritual Formation.
For the past thirty years, Milburn Price has taught classes on music and worship at Furman University, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Samford University. He has also written and lectured widely and pursued post-doctoral studies on these subjects.
