1. Genesis 11:31--12:9
2. Genesis 13:1-18
3. Genesis 18:1-15; 21:1-7
4. Genesis 24
God created the world and called on humanity to care for it so that all creatures might know the life God intended for them. But humanity failed to be faithful to God's trust. So God acted again, calling an already old man and his wife to leave their home and trust in a future they could not see. For generations, Abraham and Sarah have been our examples of what it means to be faithful and to trust God's promises even when those promises seem impossible. This unit introduces their story as God's plan to bless the world. Use these stories to teach children the meaning of divine promises (covenant).
