Brief Description
"Seeing Beyond the Wonder" is a four session Bible study for adults, including learner’s materials, teaching guides, and handouts.

Through the four sessions in this unit we will have a chance to see beyond the wonder of four miracles of Jesus woven into the gospel of John. These “signs,” as described by John, will be our points of departure. They will be the first steps as we explore how “seeing beyond the wonder” can enrich our understanding of the Gospel and, in the process, deepen our understanding of our lives as followers of Jesus.

Session One examines the wedding at Cana as a symbol of hope.

Session Two focuses our attention on the compassion of a loving parent, and the response of Jesus to his needs.

In Session Three we meet a man born blind who first gains his vision and then finds insight into Jesus of Nazareth.

Session Four gives us a rare chance to see Jesus face the dying and death of a friend. If we listen in a focused way to the story we will learn some new dimensions of our central confession that Jesus is "the resurrection and the life."
